I took a nice walk up to Los Pinetos peak— it’s a ten mile round trip from the 14 freeway in the Santa Clarita Valley in Los Angeles County. Lots of uphill and downhill hiking, so I only found a few minutes to shoot pictures. Very windy up at the peak; in the distance, I saw a few hang gliders slope soaring on the air rising up off the mountains (they were too far away to photograph, unfortunately).

I took some pictures of my drive from the LA area up to Mojave, California. While in Mojave, I stopped and took pictures at the Spaceport there, getting some pictures of old planes, research outbuildings, etc.

I also visited the large windfarm outside of Mojave. Since I visited on Thanksgiving, the area was completely deserted— I got a chance to sit in the middle of a huge array of wind turbines, listening to them creak in the wind.

Lots of vivid murals in Tokyo, some of which imitated US street art, some of which ventured off into only-in-Japan territory. Here are some examples. I should have shot more. All of the above are from the Shibuya district of Tokyo.

Tokyo is a busy place. Lots of fast-moving traffic, lots of energy. Here are some pictures from the Shibuya district taken on my last day in Japan.

Here are some more pictures of my trip to Kyoto.

Here are some pictures of the train station in Kyoto. Waiting for our train, I got some pictures of other trains arriving and departing.

I snuck up to a top-floor banquet hall at our hotel in Kobe. The views of the port were nice from up there, so I snapped a few pictures.
